Finalità - Obiettivi e Proposte

Parlare di obiettivi e proposte, può apparire un discorso strumentale, soprattutto quando in gioco vi sono i destini di innumerevoli esseri umani,
sulle cui esistenze in alcun modo è dato scherzare.

E’ il caso soffermarsi ad esempio, sulla volontà di collaborazione, con chiunque rappresenti e tuteli gli interessi degli emarginati,
dei poveri, dei derelitti. Uomo o donna, adulto o bambino, bianco o nero.
Una collaborazione sia con i singoli, che, ovviamente,
con le altre organizzazioni aventi identiche finalità. Non a caso abbiamo dichiarato espressamente nel nostro statuto, di adottare e recepire
- per dirla in breve -
gli insegnamenti e l’esperienza di tutti coloro che sono già da tempo impegnati in questa sfida.

Fondamentale poi, è la possibilità di finanziamento, offerta dall’Associazione, per progetti di assistenza, sviluppo, tutela, ricerca e solidarietà come:

a) interventi umanitari in situazioni di emergenza e bisogno;

b) interventi sanitari di prevenzione e cura, attivabili a livello locale, nazionale ed estero, di fornitura farmaceutica,
di gratuità di prestazioni mediche, di presidi ospedalieri e ortopedici;

c) interventi di supporto giuridico-legale, di consulenza, assistenza e patrocinio;

d) diffusione e promozione di progetti culturali;

e) assistenza economica e morale per madri, donne sole, abusate, indigenti;

f) assistenza ai bambini, in particolare quelli abbandonati e abusati, a tutela del loro patrimonio morale e della loro fantasia,
ridipingendo i loro sogni e le loro aspettative anche con la realizzazione di laboratori tematici, musicali, teatrali e artigianali,
aventi ad oggetto anche la riscoperta della cultura fantastica delle favole e delle leggende, tratte dalla cultura e tradizione popolare.

Sono queste iniziative che, unitamente a tutte le altre contemplate nello statuto, costituiscono - in definitiva - il programma della nostra Associazione.

The Lviv Regional Specialized Children’s Hospital was organized in 1990 and it takes on the function as a Specialized Center of 8 regions of West Ukrainian.
The Hospital provides medical care for children who suffered from the Chornobyl disaster.

The Hospital has 180 beds: Haematology - 30 beds, Surgery (including Oncology and Plastic Surgery) - 40 beds, General pediatrics (including Clinical
Immunology, Cardiology, Rheumatology, Endocrinology) - 60 beds, Neurology (takes care of children with severe diseases of CNS) - 30 beds, Outpatient Department - 20 beds, and the Intensive Care Unit (besides patients from the hospital it works as 24-hours poison center) - 6 beds (not included in total beds amount).
Children aged from 1 month till 18 years have their treatment in the Hospital. Mean number of patients having their in-patient treatment is around 5,300/year.
The Outpatient Clinic provides consulting for patients in Pediatrics, Haematology, Surgery & Surgical Oncology, Plastic Surgery, Immunology, Endocrinology,
Cardiology, Rheumatology, Gynecology, Neuropathology, Orthopedics, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Pulmonology, Ophthalmology, and Dermatology.

It also has a Surdology and Audiology Unit. Average number of patients - 233 per day.

The diagnostics and treatment of patients is aided by our laboratory (Biochemical,
Immunological, Haematological, Bacteriological, Genetical and Radioimmunological investigations), Functional Diagnostics Unit, Radiology Department, Endoscopy Unit, Physiotherapy Unit, and Hyperbarical Oxygenation Unit.
The hospital is a clinical base for the General Pediatrics, Immunology and Radiology Departments of Lviv Medical University.
Students and physicians have training in the hospital.

Due to the complicated economic situation in Ukraine we have serious difficulties in the diagnostics
and treatment of sick children. Help and cooperation is urgently by our hospital and would be greatly appreciated. We would be glad to here your proposals.
Thank you for your efforts to help us. However we would see the help to our Hospital in a different way.

It is impossible to carry the medications over the Ukrainian boarder these days. In order to release the medications from
the customs the medications have to be registered by the producing company in Ukraine, and also have to be supplied with an official Certificate
of quality from the producing company. But the Hospital needs many other things, which could be a subject for the discussion: disposable hospital materials,
infusion sets, syringes, small equipment, etc.
